CRIF in the Caribbean: A Strong Credit Bureau Network

The Caribbean region represents a strategic focus for CRIF’s international growth. Today, CRIF operates three licensed Credit Bureaus in the area, playing a central role in strengthening financial infrastructures and promoting responsible access to credit.

Credit Bureau in Jamaica

CRIF has been present in Jamaica since 2011, with full operations starting in 2013 following licensing under the Credit Reporting Act.
CRIF Information Bureau Jamaica Ltd. collects both positive and negative credit data from banks, credit unions, microfinance institutions and other approved providers, transforming this information into reliable credit reports that support lending decisions, credit risk assessment and consumer transparency.

Credit Bureau in The Bahamas

In The Bahamas, CRIF Information Services Bahamas Ltd. operates the country’s first licensed Credit Bureau, authorized in 2019 and supervised by the Central Bank of The Bahamas.
The bureau represents a key pillar of the national financial system, enabling lenders to assess creditworthiness more accurately and allowing consumers to build a formal credit history under a secure, consent-based framework.

Credit Bureau in Belize

CRIF’s most recent milestone in the region is Belize, where in 2025 the Group was officially licensed as the country’s first Credit Bureau operator.
The launch of CRIF Information Services Limited Belize marks a significant step toward expanding access to credit, supporting MSMEs and strengthening financial inclusion through transparent and compliant credit reporting.

A New Cross-Country Credit Project for the Caribbean

Building on this consolidated presence, CRIF has now launched a cross-country project covering the entire Caribbean region.

The initiative is designed to move beyond individual markets and create a connected regional credit ecosystem, combining:
